What is Toad Circle? A Creative Club for Quilters + Bookworms

Posted by Olivia Alaniz on

Imagine this: it’s Sunday morning, you’ve got a fresh cup of coffee, your favorite fabric pull laid out in front of you, and a new chapter of a good book waiting to be cracked open. That’s the vibe we’re going for with Toad Circle - our seasonal membership that brings together quilting, reading, and community in the coziest possible way.

Taylor, founder of Toad & Sew, stands barefoot and smiling in front of a bold, geometric modern quilt made with vibrant solids. She’s leaning on a stack of colorful books—capturing the spirit of Toad Circle, a seasonal quilting membership that blends modern quilting, community, and cozy book club vibes.

Toad Circle is a club for people who love being creative at home but still crave connection. It’s our way of weaving together introverted hobbies with just the right sprinkle of social magic. Think of it as your virtual crafting nook - a place where fabric-loving, book-adoring folks from all walks of life can gather to make something beautiful together.

Each season, we open the doors for new members to join in on our Book Club + Mystery Quilt Sew Along - an 8-week journey where we read a book together and work on a mystery quilt pattern that slowly reveals itself, week by week.

The quilt is longarm quilted with floral pantographs and backed in a teal geometric print—perfectly capturing the colorful, clean-lined aesthetic of contemporary quilt design.

There’s something so fun about watching the pieces come together (literally and figuratively), especially when you’re sharing that experience with a whole group of kind, creative humans.

And because we like to keep things fresh and exciting, we only open sign-ups four times a year. So if your curiosity is piqued, I’d recommend heading over to the Toad Circle info page to see when the next round begins. All the dates and details live there, and that page is your go-to if you want to make sure you don’t miss out when the next door creaks open.

Once you’re in, you’ll have access to all the fun: community chats, book discussions, the full 8-week sew along experience, and a rotating lineup of bonus projects between rounds to keep your creativity buzzing.

Handmade Halloween-themed sewing projects styled with candy, including a candy corn snap pouch, a chocolate bar zip pouch, and a wrapped candy softie.

Oh, and we’ve got exclusive merch too - stickers, shirts, and other little goodies made just for our members.

There are a few different ways to join, depending on how much you want to dive in. Some folks go all-in with the Toadster tier (our most deluxe option that even lets you peek at the full quilt design at the very beginning, if surprises aren’t your thing). Others prefer the Toadlet tier, which gets you access to everything except the spoilers. And if you just want the pattern and a little peek inside, there’s also a one-time Tadpole option - no full membership required.

No matter which path you choose, you’ll be part of something special: a community that celebrates creativity, encourages connection, and fully supports your love of books and quilts.

So if this sounds like your kind of thing (or you’re even just Toad-Circle-curious), hop on over to the Toad Circle page to learn more. We’ll be waiting with open arms and a pile of fabric scraps.
