Each week, I’ll share what’s been going on in my world—what I’ve been sewing, reading, and working on—plus important updates, upcoming releases, and a little life chatter.
It’s a laid-back letter from me to you, full of creativity, inspiration, and maybe a laugh or two. Thanks for stopping by!
Personal Life.
On the personal side of things, my husband surprised me with a fun date night by planning an intro to pottery class! It was so much fun, but honestly, way harder than I expected. I haven’t touched a throwing wheel since high school, and while I may look like I know what I’m doing in the photo above—trust me, I don’t! But it was such a great time, and I can’t wait to give it another try.
I’ve also been reading a lot lately, trying to stay distracted because, let’s be honest, the world is a bit overwhelming right now. It’s my way of finding some peace amid the chaos.
And, as always, I’m working a lot on various projects in different areas of life, juggling a bit of everything. It’s a lot, but I’m taking it one step at a time!
In the studio.
It’s been busy (but exciting!) in the Toad & Sew studio lately. I’ve been sewing like crazy and prepping for my next release—I can’t wait to share it with you soon! QuiltCon is just around the corner, so a lot of my time has been spent planning workshops and making sure everything is coming together.
Last week, I had the chance to help Wyldwood Creative get ready for their new branding and website launch, and it was such a rewarding project to work on. I also ordered so much fabric for future kits, and I’m already dreaming about all the fun projects it’ll turn into.
Over the weekend, I taught my first workshop at Wyldwood Creative, and it was an amazing experience. Getting to connect with other makers in person was so inspiring, and I’m already looking forward to planning more workshops in the future. What’s been happening in your creative space? I’d love to hear! 💌
Trending pattern.
I’m so excited to see how much love the New Years Kiss Quilt has been getting lately! It’s amazing to think this was my very first pattern, created to celebrate my boyfriend and my 5th anniversary on New Year’s Eve 2020. Now, it’s become one of the go-to patterns for quilters looking for something bold, fun, and just the right amount of challenging.
This quilt has such a striking design, and I think part of its appeal is how it’s both creative and approachable. It’s perfect if you’re ready to try something new or want to build your skills while working on something stunning. And honestly, seeing all the incredible versions people have made—it’s just so inspiring!
One of my favorite things about this pattern is the way it keeps things interesting. Each section has its own vibe, so you’re never stuck doing the same thing over and over. Plus, there’s a free coloring sheet to help plan your layout, which makes the whole process even more fun.
The New Years Kiss Quilt has been popping up everywhere lately, and I couldn’t be happier about it. It’s a vibrant, modern quilt that’s truly a joy to make—and it’s so exciting to see it trending in the quilting world right now!
